How a Simple Idea gets Out of Hand

"Here's an idea.  Lets fly over for a few days to visit.   After all, we've never seen the French seaside."

Well, one thing led to another...  I mean, seeing as we're already over there,  maybe we could catch a glimpse of Paris.  The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre.  It's only a short stroll... maybe a leisurely boat cruise down the Seine.

"Wait a minute!  Here's another idea!  Forget the Seine cruise, how about a Mediterranean Cruise!  I mean, we're already there, right?   And check this out! Carnival just launched a brand new ship, the Magic, with stops at Barcelona, Monaco, Pisa, Tuscany, Rome, Napes, Messina Sicily, Palma Majorca Spain and Marseilles.  Perfect!  We do the cruise thing, then hop off in the port of Marseilles, take a train to Paris, then it's off to Courseulles-Sur-Mer and Juno Beach! "

"Check this online train schedule.  There's a train that goes from Paris, under the English Channel, to London in two hours!  And we'll be there anyway.. right?   OK, that's the plan.  Cruise, Paris, London, Courseulles-Sur-Mer, let's gather up the maps and start booking!"

Toss in some warm British beer...

"Have you noticed how close Belgium is to Calais France?   It's about an hours drive and we're going right through Calais on our way back to Paris from London.  New Plan!  Cruise, Paris, London, Calais, rent a car, Belgium, and let's toss in Vimy on our drive to Courseulles-Sur-Mer and Juno Beach.  Done! "

...and Belgium chocolate (or waffles - can't decide)

And that my friends, is how a simple idea gets totally out of hand.
