While traveling to Paris Gare Nord to
catch the train to London, we came to the realization that we pretty
much have the Paris subway system figured out. Too little too late!
The train ride was just over two hours
from Paris to London. When we arrived at Kings Cross Pancras Station in downtown
London we immediately went into “ 'How the heck does the
subway system work around here!” mode! Deja Vue all over
again!
We did manage to sort things out and
popped out of the underground at St. James Park only a few
hundred feet from the hotel. We are staying at the Sanctuary House
Hotel, a block away from Westminster Abbey, and less than a
kilometer from Buckingham Palace. It's a great location. Thank you tripadvisor.com!
Our first order of business was to check out the pub located on the first floor of the hotel. We approve!
We then did a quick tour of Westminster, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace to get a lay of the land to plan our day tomorrow.

Greenwich observatory is a short
distance from here so I'm hoping to spend a little time there
tomorrow. Marty has her sights set on Carnaby Street to do a little
shopping. And we can't miss the changing of the guard at Buckingham
Palace! I'm pretty sure we will have a full day of touring tomorrow.
I'll give you a full report as events
unfold.

Pip pip, cheerio me buckos! Say tallyho to Liz and Phil. Enjoy those kippers in the morning!
